Great way to get across the city, (stop at St. Georges Wharf Vauxhall) these rapid catamarans run from Putney to East London (O2), more expensive than the tube but you actually get to see all the sights, think of it as an economical river tour! Cheaper if you have an oyster card...Also has a bar on board for drinks and snacks.

Wonderful boat trips along the Thames river. East towards Greenwich (Cutty Sark, Maritime Museum, Observatory park, 0º latitude meridian line) or west towards, Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace (Tudor palace and grounds)

river taxi service that starts in the royal arsenal. great for riding into the centre of london to see the sights from the river

why bother with travelling by tube when you can take to the river? a regular service runs from Chelsea harbour to the city and you can use your oyster card too.
